Mon 29th Sept 25

After a misty start to the morning the sun broke through and it was great for a walk around the site. Sadly no sign of yesterdays Redstart but everywhere we went we found Goldcrests and Chiffchaffs along with all the usual bits and bobs. MO'H/MR et.al

Sun 28th Sept 25

Most of the morning was spent around the bushes, at first just a few Chiffchaff, a Blackcap, Garden Warbler, Chaffinch and the usual tit flocks plus 4+ Siskins (over) but later we relocated the male Redstart at first in the greensward hedge near the PLA pylon, but later back in yesterdays location in the carpark hedge just before the wooded area on and behind the last picnic table.

A sit on the pillbox added 2 Ruff and a Blk H Gull on the scrape, 14+ Curlew out on the marsh with a few Lapwing, 4+ Buzzard and a Marsh Harrier out over the arable and a pair of Stonechat on the brambles. Also noted was a steady movement of Swallows throughout the morning. RJ/MO'H/MR

I joined Pete & Simon (after a late start) in the shelter for a short seawatch, earlier they had added a nice group of Arctic Tern to the site year list but it was much quieter after I arrived, 9 Common Scoter and a few Wigeon & Teal was about it.

Two Ringed Plover were on the sluice on the way to the hide, how they were staying on there I don't know in the gale of wind blowing along the front.

Tues 23rd Sept 25

Richard & Mike had a Pied Flycatcher and a couple of Goldcrest along the Approach Rd. first thing and a short seawatch which added nothing much of note. Things improved greatly when we reached the entrance to the sewage works with the hedge between there and the mounds loaded with birds, a large Tit flock included at least 5 Goldcrest, Chiffchaffs, a Garden Warbler plus atop the small conifer were 6 Siskins. A Yellow-L-Gull was on the sluice and a few Sandwich Terns offshore.
