Bird of the day for me was a cracking male Whinchat seen on the brambles to the right of the hide, but it was only one of a number of good birds today, Cuckoo, House Martin and Whinchat were new for the year, plus a good number of Wheatear, Willow Warblers, Chiffs, Whitethroats and Blackcaps. Also 3 Purple Sands and 2 Turnstone on the sluice rocks.
