08:19 Reduction in numbers on scrape this morning - 21 Dunlin, Curlew Sand, 3 Ruff, 3 Green Sand, 2 Common Sand, Redshank, Greenshank, 2 Snipe, 33 Teal and White Wagtail. 27 Curlew, Grey Heron and Little Egret. 

Overhead- multiple Ringed Plover and Green Sand, 3 Redshank, 1+ Turnstone, 4 Sanderling N along beach + Yellow Wag and Grey over. Lots of Sandwich Terns offshore + south + 6 Shoveler. 

Only N end of car park and hide bushes covered- 3+ Willow Warbler, 2 Lesser Whitethroat and few Blackcaps.

13:43 Definitely less waders on the Scrape this morning, although 4 Curlew Sandpipers was an increase on yesterdays one, the Temminck's Stint seems to have moved on with no sign today, also seen, 2 Ruff, 10 Golden Plover, 2 Green & 3 Common Sand, still about 30 Dunlin present.1 Wheatear out on the marsh.(MO’H,RJ,PD,PL).

08:55 Haven first thing: 13 swallow (south, between the showers), 2 yellow wag (1 south), 1 chiff, 4 blackcap, 7 whitethroat, 6 lesser whitethroat, 26 pied wag (1 south, 22 dell/greensward), 2 Cetti’s (singing), 1 peregrine (west, appeared to be in off), 1 sparrowhawk, 150+ starling, 2 greenfinch, 1 green woodpecker, 1 great spotted woodpecker. 

Scrape/marsh: 3 ruff (1 adult male with a juv female showed the considerable difference in size between the sexes), 23 dunlin, 3 green sand, 10 snipe, 2 little ringed plover, 3 common sand, 2 black-tailed godwit, 11 golden plover, 16 curlew, 1 whimbrel, 1 grey heron.

The Pied Fly was still along the carpark hedge this morning and most of the waders were still with us on the scrape, so another good day, if a tad warm.

Brian's Tree Sparrow first thing was another bird for the "Site Year List" now standing at 151 species for the year, and with over a hundred waders of 14 species on the scrape today that's not bad for your local Country Park. Yesterdays Pied Flycatcher was still around this morning along with a few Whitethroats but not a lot of anything else of note.

14:08  All the usual waders around the Scrape this morning, with Wood, Green  & Common Sandpipers, also Ruff, Greenshank, LRP, Whimbrel, Curlew, Dunlin & 3 Golden Plovers, a  juvenile Yellow- legged Gull flew in for a while. 

Short walk to the hay bales and round the moth enclosure added 2 Wheatear, Whinchat and Stonechat, offshore 3 Sandwich Terns north.

A good start to the morning when Pete Loud found a Pied Flycatcher just minutes after getting out of his car on the hedge at the bottom of the carpark. Thankfully Richard, Mike & myself were not far away and all got good views. A few new birds on the scrape with 2 Ruff, 2 Ringed Plovers (different birds to Yesterday), 1 Golden Plover plus a nice Chinese Water Deer.

09:04 Pied Flycatcher by picnic Tables end of car park just before wooded area.

13:16 Not a bad morning at the Haven today with a Pied Flycatcher that everyone got to see in the end, but not much else around the bushes 

The Scrape is still good for waders, with a few new in today, 2 Juvenile Ruff, 2 adult Ringed Plovers and an adult Golden Plover still in breeding plumage  joining the Wood Sand & Greenshank, present for a few days now, 5 Green Sands, 3 Common Sands, 6 Blackwit, including a couple of juveniles and the flock of 20 + Dunlin, plus juvenile Med Gull. 

Short walk to French point added 1 Wheatear on the hay bales and a fine juvenile Kittiwake very close in past the sluice heading north.(RJ,MO’H,MR,PL).

16:15 Haven first thing: 1 wood sandpiper, 2 wheatear (on hay bales NE of scrape), 4 black-tailed godwit (including first juvenile of the autumn for me), 1 greenshank, 4 green sandpiper, 2 common sandpiper, 19 curlew, 1 whimbrel, 12 dunlin, 3 snipe, 2 yellow wagtail, 1 kingfisher, 1 sparrowhawk (nice male decided to land next to the scrape), 1 Cetti’s (singing), 13 swallow (1 south). 

Dell: 3 lesser whitethroat (4 altogether), 5 greenfinch (7 altogether), 7 pied wag, 2 whitethroat (3 altogether).

All the best bits happened just before I arrived and after I left, Two Ravens passed over the site early on for Richard & Mike but when they arrived at the hide it seemed quite quiet, until a Fox had a run around the scrape flushing everything out into the open and then it was waders everywhere.

15:01 Brief early visit to Haven: 1 coal tit (calling by cottages and eventually showing, presumably the bird I heard last week), 49 swallow (39 south mainly first thing), 2 swift (south), 2 blackcap, 10+ pied wag, 1 green woodpecker. 

Scrape/marsh: 7 green sandpiper (4 of these flew off south together), 3 common sandpiper, 10 dunlin, 3 snipe, 1 black-tailed godwit, 1 greenshank, 1 curlew, 1 little egret, 100+ starling, 1 Cetti’s (singing), 2 yellow wag.

Also in dell: 1 willow warbler, 3 blackcap, 3 whitethroat, 1 chiff (3 altogether), 2 lesser whitethroat, 2 greenfinch (4 altogether).

14:44 Haven this morning, quite around the bushes again with just a single Willow Warbler several Whitethroats and Lesser and a few Reed Warblers Scrape 21 Dunlin, 6 Green & 3 Common Sand's, 1 Greenshank, 1 LRP, 3 Snipe, 3 Whimbrel, 26+ Curlew, several Yellow Wagtail and a couple of Marsh Harrier.

12:38 A walk round the bushes was fairly quiet not much evidence of passage as yet, although Richard and I had a fine year tick with a Garden Warbler sunning itself in the hedge behind the sluice back of the sewage farm, also seen one each of Willow Warbler, Chiffchaff, Common & Lesser Whitethroat, circuit to Sunny Point and back along the seawall 3 Sandwich Terns & several Southern Migrant Hawkers, they seem quite established at the Haven now. From the Scrape hide, still plenty of waders on view, 4 Green Sands, 5 Common Sands, 4 LRP, 3 Black-wit, 12 Dunlin, 1 Greenshank, 4 Snipe, 1 Whimbrel & 30 Curlew, also seen several House & Sand Martins, 2 Swift, Cuckoo, Great spot Woodpecker and 2 Marsh Harrier.(RJ,PL).

Another lovely day and a good selection of birds, including a few birds of prey not seen for a while.

From the hide: 15+ Canada Geese, 2 Greylag, 10+ Mallard, 2 Teal, 34 Lapwing, 30+ Curlew, 12 Dunlin, 6 Whimbrel, 4 Snipe, 4 Common Sands, 3 Green Sands, 3 LRP's, 2 Blk T Godwit, 2 Oystercatcher, 90+ Blk H Gulls, 7 Grey Heron, 1 Peregrine, 1 Buzzard, 1 Marsh Harrier, 1 Kestrel, 10+ Pied Wags, 1 Yellow Wag, a few Swallows. On the way out a Kittiwake was picked up by PL heading N/E offshore PL/RJ/MR.
