From the hide: 4 Canada Geese, lots of Mallard, 7+ Teal, 89 Blk T Godwits, 10 Avocet, 8 Lapwing, 5 Common Sands, 4 Snipe, 2 Green Sands, 1 Wood Sand, 1 Curlew, 50 Blk H Gulls, 3 LBB, 5 Grey Heron, 4 Cormorant, 2 Lt. Egret, 10+ Sand Martin, a few Swallow, 1 Marsh Harrier, 1 Sparrowhawk, 2 Kestrel. RJ/MO'H/MR.

08:46 2 Green & 3 Common Sands again on scrape. 4 Snipe. 83 Blackwits. 17 Avocets. Light wader movement earlier from shelter inc 2 Whimbrel & 1 Barwit, but bushes behind fence are seriously impairing viewing.
09:05 Forgot to add 1 juv Wood Sand.

18:20 Nice visit to the Scrape mid afternoon cloudy and nice and cool made for good viewing,.4 Common Sand, 3 Green Sand, took me at least an hour to find the Wood Sand, it was rather elusive, 55 Blackwit, 10 Avocet, 2 Snipe, couple of light showers got a few Swifts moving low south late afternoon about. 40+.

13:34 Very busy in the Dell this morning with several juvenile Willow Warblers and Chiffchaff, 10+ Whitethroat and a couple of Blackcap. On the Scrape, 1 Greenshank, 2 Green Sand, 1 Common Sand, 90+ Blackwit. and a fine Jersey Tiger Moth on the hedge bordering the old ringing compound on the way back. (RJ & PL).

17:29 Walk from Frinton to Haven and back via the farm this morning included: 1 Spotted Redshank, 1 Green Sandpiper, 2 Common Sandpiper, 1 Greenshank, 1 Snipe, 24 Black-tailed Godwit, 2 Avocet, 1 Little Egret, 15 Lapwing, 4 Golden Plover (south over golf course), 16 Curlew, 5 Whimbrel, 2 Oystercatcher (south), 30+ House Martin (drifting high south first thing), 42 Swallow (12 south), 1 Reed Warbler (singing), 1 Sparrowhawk, 16 Pied Wag, 40+ Starling, 75+ Linnet (flock of 60+ on flax fields), 55 Swift (south; some low along the coast others very high well inland), 8 Chiff (1 singing weakly), 3 Willow Warbler (with tit/warbler flock along approach road), 2 Blackcap, 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 3 Whitethroat, 5 Sand Martin (south), 3 Green Woodpecker (juvs), 4 Reed Bunting, 4 Corn Bunting (in flax fields, 1 singing).

12:24 Bit of a wader fest on the scrape this morning with singles of Spot Redshank Greenshank, Dunlin, Common Sand, Snipe, 2 Green Sandpiper, 80+ Blackwit, 7 Curlew over but only a couple of Avocet. Also 2 juv Common Gull and a juv Med for comparison 7 Grey Heron + the usual ducks etc, also a steady southbound movement of swifts, autumn's here.

14:08 Very early farm- gc- seawall-Frinton walk 0515-0545 - c50 Swallow and 4 Lesser White around farm and paddocks, Wheatear at manure heap on bridle way, 14 Curlew, 5 Whimbrel and a juv Y L Gull on gc, 4 Redshank south offshore.

Richard had a walk around the Dell and Orchard areas this morning which showed several Lesser and Common Whitethroat, Blackcap etc, plus a couple of juv. Willow Warblers.
