Thurs 18th May 23

We had a good walk around the main site this morning and things were much the same, still plenty of singing Blackcaps a few Chiffchaff and Whitethroat plus a couple of Lesser Whitethroats. Two Cuckoo's seem to be settled in, calling out on the marsh hedges early on.

From the hide: The 2 Canada Goose pairs and the mixed pair still have all their 18 goslings, and lots of Mallard chick about, 1 Mute Swan, 28 Shelduck, 10 Mallard, 4 Gadwall, 4 Shoveler, 1 Wigeon, 18 Avocet, 2+ Oystercatcher, 1 Redshank, 1+ Coot, 2 Lt. Grebe, 4 Cormorant, 1 Cuckoo, Reed, Sedge & Cetti's Warblers, Reed Bunting, Linnet, 8+ Swallows.

Birds of the day were reserved for Richards afternoon visit with some stunning Sanderling and Dunlin on the beach.
