Tues 13th Feb 24

I had a short visit to the Haven late morning, the latest heavy rainfall means that a large area of the marsh is flooded again with birds spread all over the place.

From the hide: 19 Canada Geese, 8 Greylag on the arable, lots of Teal, Wigeon, 30+ Shoveler, 8 Mallard, 6 Pintail, 5 Shelduck, 20+ Curlew, plus a Cetti's Warbler (heard only).

After some recent clearing work a Water Vole showed well in front of the hide.

On leaving 5 Purple Sands had moved onto the rocks south of French Point with the rising tide.MR
