A Firecrest was my bird of the day, in the wood just behind the Boating Club compound also Redwing, Song Thrush and several Blackbirds. A walk to French Point gave just 6 Turnstone (2 on the point and 4 on rocks to the south) and 15 Brent heading south offshore, a Water Rail was in the Reedbed near to Simons ringing rides.
From the hide: c200 Greylag, c60 Wigeon, c30 Teal, 10 Shoveler, 4 Mallard, 2 Shelduck, 6 Cormorant, 1 Grey Heron, 14 Lapwing, 5 Blk. T Godwit, 2 Snipe, 1 Water Rail (heard only), 20 Blk H Gulls, 5 Herring Gulls, 2 Common Gulls, 1 Cetti's Warbler, 1 Stonechat, 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Kestrel.
