Thurs 23rd June 22
I had a walk down from the farm this morning, nothing special but Green & Gt. Spotted Woodpeckers were around the pond, Swallows hawked over the stables, Goldfinch, Linnet, House Sparrow, Pied Wag, Whitethroat & Blackcap were around the paddocks.
On the walk to the seafront several Reed Warblers were singing as was a Cetti's Warbler. I met up with Richard on the Golf Course and we walked back along the front adding a male Stonechat then bird of the day, a Red Kite drifting over the marsh before gaining hight and heading toward Lt Clacton.
On the scrape: The windpump is not making any headway with filling the scrape but a least it is keeping some of the mud moist. 2 Grey Heron, 2 Redshank, 20 Blk. H Gulls, 6 Herring Gulls, 6 LBB Gulls were on the scrape and 2 Med Gulls were flyovers. Also noted were 1 Sedge Warbler, 1 Lesser & 1 Com Whitethroat in the same bush, Cetti's Warbler, 30+ Swallows and 3 Sand Martins. RJ/MR
