Tues 23rd Jan 24
It started to rain just as I got out of the car this morning, so I headed to the hide.
It was good to to see 3 Blk. T. Godwits on the scrape after it being frozen for so long and after looking through the ducks and geese I started looking a bit closer and managed to find 2 Common Snipe, the third snipe I came across looked interesting but asleep, after a while a bit movement showed it was a Jack Snipe (NFY) so the wet walk back was well worthwhile.
From the hide: c40 Greylag, 120 Teal, 84 Wigeon, 9 Shoveler, 4 Mallard, 2 Shelduck, 1 Grey Heron, c200 Lapwing, c30 Golden Plover (on the arable), 40 Curlew (on the marsh), 3 Blk T Godwits, 2 Com. Snipe, 1 Jack Snipe, 1 Kestrel.
