17:32 Walk from Frinton to Haven and back via farm this morning included: 1 Greenshank, 1 Little Owl (usual spot by footpath), 1 Hobby (west over arable), 29 Swallow, 7 House Martin, 8 Pied Wag, 1 Yellow Wag, 21 Linnet (post-breeding flock of 15), 5 Cetti’s (singing), 7 Whitethroat (singing), 9 Reed Warbler (singing), 18 SWwift, 1 Song Thrush (singing), 3 Reed Bunting (singing), 2 Sedge Warbler (singing), 4 Egyptian Goose, 1 Marsh Harrier, 2 Grey Heron, 1 Chinese Water Deer, 1 Green Sandpiper, 2 Green Woodpecker, 84 Avocet, 4 Shoveler, 3 Teal, 1 Cuckoo (singing), 2 Chiff (singing), 2 Blackcap (singing), 1 Greenfinch (singing), 40+ Starling, 3 Lapwing (chicks), 1 Buzzard, 2 Corn Bunting (singing, both by bridleway), 1 Hare. (22 species in song).
