Fri 22nd March 19

Late start for me this morning so I decided to head straight for the hide, met up with Dave Welham on route and as we paused to look for the Stonechat around the mounds Pete Davis had a Hen Harrier* (adult male) from the hide steps, unfortunately by the time us oldie's got round the corner the bird had been lost to view .

From the hide :- 6 Canada Geese, 2 Greylag, Teal & Wigeon c50 of each, 20+ Shelduck, 6 Shoveler, 2 Gadwall, 26 Avocet, 18 Lapwing, 15+ Snipe, 7 Redshank, 5 BlkWits, 4 Oystercatcher, 2 Grey Heron, 1 Common Gull with Blk.-headed & Herring Gulls, 1 Buzzard,   1 Kestrel PRD/DW/MR

Around lunchtime George Brown had a Yellow-legged Gull on the scrape until 14:30 at least
