Tue 22nd Oct 19

A much better day today with very little wind and a good amount of sun.
As I drove in 20 Greylag & 7 Canada Geese dropped into the flooded marsh to the north of the approach road.

I decided to have a walk along the front and at the sluice 3 Canada Geese were sitting on the sea a short distance offshore and a single Turnstone was on the rocks with a mixed group of gulls, 3 Brent & 2 Cormorants headed N/E. The walk to the 3rd pillbox and back added 1 Rock Pipit, 5 Bearded Tit, 5 Stonechat, 3 Swallows + Goldfinch, Skylark, Reed Bunting, Meadow Pipit. Pete Davis also had a few Siskins today.

From the Hide :- 100+ Teal, 4 Wigeon, 1 Shoveler, 100+ Lapwing, 3 BlkWits, 3 Snipe, 1 Redshank, 1 Green Sandpiper, 1 Water Rail, 1 Grey heron, 1 Common Gull, 1 Med Gull (1stW), 1 LBB, Blk. Headed & Herring Gulls.

A late afternoon visit added a super Barn Owl quartering the marsh to the right of the hide & a Dunlin on the scrape but unfortunately no S E Owl tonight.
