Thu 17th Oct 19

I started off from the church this morning and around the farm were 2 Chiffchaff, 2 Green Woodpeckers lots of Meadow Pipits, Linnets, House Sparrows, Pied Wags & Blackbirds. The walk down Long Lane to the golf course added 5 Stonechats and a few Skylark & Mippits, and 4 Brent Geese heading N/E, no sign of a Lt. Owl at the golf course workshops but a Brambling made up for that.

A Wheatear was on the golf course near the raised tee as I went up onto the seawall and a few minutes later Paul Braishaw had 4 Bearded Tits drop into the reed bed in the same area.
Simon & Pat Cox had seen 12 Bearded Tit during their ringing session along with c1000 Linnets, c500  Goldfinch moving south and the vis-mig continued as Paul and I joined them for a chat.

From the Hide :- 60 Greylag, c100 Teal, 7 Wigeon, 4 Cormorant, 1 Grey Heron, c120 Lapwing, 1 Avocet, 1 Redshank, 1 BlkWit, 1 Curlew,  2 Stonechat, 1 Kingfisher, 1 Buzzard, 2 Kestrel. DW/DC/MR.

A quick look around the bushes added just a couple of Redwing, Song Thrush and a late Lesser Whitethroat.
