Mon 24th Jan 22

The high point of today was a group of 40 White-fronted Geese on the marsh to the right of the hide. First picked up by Dave Cummings were 5 geese sitting out on the marsh, thought to be the five that have been around for a while, but after a few minutes there were 25 then at least 40 as more birds moved out from behind the reeds, fantastic to see such a good number. At first glance mostly adults, just a few juvs.

Four Mute Swans were on the arable in 2 pairs, 20 Greylags at the back of the scrape, on the scrape were C60 Teal, c30 Wigeon, 20 Lapwing, 2 Avocet and 30 Curlew flew over.

A walk the the Frinton end added just 1 Stonechat, 1 Rock Pipit, 1 Oystercatcher heading north offshore and 2 Turnstone were on the sluice rocks. PRD/DC/MR
