Wed 9th Aug 23

Lots of birds around today, the Dell was very busy with all the expected warblers in good numbers, Willow Warblers in the approach road wood for PL and the Dipping Pond area, more calling from the Feeding Stn. A Turnstone was on the Boating Club rocks.

From the hide: Mallard, 14 Teal, 41 Lapwing, 5 Avocet, 4 Blk T Godwits, 2 Common Sands, 1 LRP, c50 Blk H Gulls, 1 Med Gull, 1 Grey Heron, 3 Lt. Grebe (2 chicks), Swallows & Swifts. PL/RJ/DW/MR.

While chatting to Simon & Pat who were ringing in the reedbed a Hobby gave a great display over the marsh, and on my way back a Whinchat was in the Moth Sanctuary.
