A nice surprise this morning when we arrived at the hide and two big white birds were seen through the bushes at the back of the flood, once in the hide we were treated to viewing 2 cracking breeding plumage Spoonbills for most of the morning.
Interestingly the Spoonbills suddenly lifted off around midday and circled the hide gaining hight for a short while before heading off along the coast towards Frinton and being joined by a third bird.
From the hide: 3 Spoonbill, Wigeon & Teal, 3+ Shoveler, 6 Mallard, 6 Shelduck, 1 Gadwall (drake), 80+ Lapwing, 36 Curlew, 4 Blk T Godwit, 3 Avocet, 3 Snipe, 2 Oystercatcher, 1 Dunlin, 1 Water Rail, 4 Buzzard, 1 Marsh Harrier, 1 Kestrel, 1 Reed Bunting. RJ/ML/MO'H/MR
