Sun 12th May 19
A much better day weather wise today but very quiet on the birding front. We were kept waiting for 5 months to get yesterday's first Coot of the year, today there were 2 on the brook between the humpbacked bridge and the metal gate, also noted over the road were 6 Shelduck, 8 Lapwing, 6 Stock Dove, 3 Reed Warbler, 1 Sedge Warbler, 1 Cetti's Warbler, 1 Cuckoo, Whitethroat, Less. Whitethroat, Linnet & 3 Swallows hawking under the bridge.
Many Thanks to Leon Woodrow for a very quick response after a message went out saying that the hide had been left in a bit of a mess overnight, by the time I arrived all was shipshape again.
Very little to see on the scrape 9 Shelduck, 1 Lt. Egret, 1 Cormorant, 5 Redshank and a few Gulls was about it.
