A quick visit to the hide this morning where I joined Pete Davis to view a good selection of waders on the scrape.
From the hide :- 29 Shelduck, 8 Avocet, 6 Dunlin, 6 Lapwing, 5 BlkWit's, 2 Wood Sandpipers, 2 Common Sandpipers, 1 Oystercatcher. PRD/JH/MR.

Mid morning Matt reported that just 1 of the Wood Sandpipers was still on the scrape, also noted were a Hybrid Goose in with the Canada's and a Yellow Wagtail.

From the hide :- 6 Canada Geese (+ 1 Hybrid), 38 Shelduck, 2 Gadwall, 6 Dunlin, 6 Lapwing, 5 Redshank, 5 Avocet, 1 Wood Sandpiper, 1 Reed Warbler, 1 Reed Bunting, 6 Swallow.
A short walk to the second pillbox added 4 Reed Warbler, 2 Sedge Warbler, 4 Linnet. A summer plumage Turnstone was on the sluice rocks, a Cetti's Warbler behind the sluice and several Whitethroats around the mounds.
It was also a good afternoon for butterflies etc. see Haven Wildlife
