14:54 Very pleasant wander round this morning, but Autumn yet to produce much to get excited about. 8AM there were 400+ House Martins feeding overhead with 100+ Swallow, 2 Swift and a Sand Martin. Good flog around the bushes only revealed 1 Chiff and 2 of both Blackcap & Whitethroat. Faired much better on the Scrape, water levels looking just perfect at the moment. Ruff 4, Green Sand 6, Dunlin 3, Snipe 3, Blackwit 7, Avocet 7, Lapwing 100 and 2 Shoveler. Marsh Harrier landed out on the marsh and a Peregrine was resting up on the fields. Nice group of 5 Whinchat by the boardwalk, with 2 Wheatear and a pair of Stonechat along the track bordering the Golf Course. Nothing noteworthy offshore on the way back to the cafe, although the egg and bacon baguette was worth a mention.(DC,PL).
