Thurs 9th Sept 21
Very quiet around the bushes again this morning, and the change in wind direction meant that the smell of bacon from the café was too much and I had to move on, 17 Pied Wags and 1 Yellow Wag were on the greensward, 2 Turnstone were on the sluice with the gulls and a Cetti's Warbler was calling from the brook near the wind pump.
On the scrape were: a few Greylags, c 50 Teal (1 with yellow flag), 4 Shelduck, 3 Shoveler, 62 Lapwing, 8 BlkWits, 7 Avocet, 7 Green Sands, 1 Dunlin, 1 Water Rail (heard only), 1 Common Gull, 2 Buzzard, 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Kestrel PRD/MR.

08:32 Haven area gc seawall quiet as expected given the variable visibility - total of 13 Swallow, 4 Grey Wag, 1 Yellow Wag and 2 Siskin south. At sea 1 Grey Plover and the surprise of the morning, 38 Canada Geese…And two Wheatears.

08:35 Haven this morning- stacks of Swallow and House Martin feeding and heading south. Easily few hundred of each (probably was underestimated). In bushes 10+ of both Lesser White and Blackcap. 3 Yellow Wag on greensward, 5 south and a Golden Plover flying round calling.
19:17 The female ‘type’ Teal (with yellow flag on left leg finally just showed on end of island, though combination too far to read). Also 7 Green Sands, 3 Ruff and a Dunlin on scrape.
