Fri 1st Sept 23
Another Great day from the hide with 10 spieces of wader present in varying numbers plus a Spoonbill and a new for year Caspian Gull. Waders were in and out all morning but 37 Ruff that dropped in late morning topped the lot, unfortunately we had left the hide a few minutes earlier and by the time we got to a vantage point the scrape had been cleared, but by what?, could have been the two Marsh Harriers seen several times through the morning or a S E Owl that was around the marsh at the time, things started to reappear soon after but not the 37 Ruff.
From the hide: Teal, Mallard, Shoveler, 1 Shelduck, 1 Grey Heron, 1 Spoonbill, 2 Lt. Grebe (juvs), c40 Lapwing, 10 Avocet, 6 Ruff (plus 37 for a short while), 4 Blk T Godwits, 3 Common Sands, 3 Dunlin, 3 Curlew Sands, 2 Greenshank, 1 Knot, 2 Marsh Harrier, 1 Buzzard, 1 Kestrel, 1 S E Owl.
