Highlight of the day was a Gt. White Egret that dropped into the scrape shortly after I arrived and spent 15mins in the middle of the scrape before flying out to the south west.




From the hide: 10 Mallard, 9 Teal, 1 Scaup, c70 Lapwing, 6 Dunlin, 3 Ruff, 2 Snipe, 1 Little Stint, 150 Blk. H Gulls, 8 Herring Gulls,1 Gt. White Egret, 2 Cormorants, 1 Grey Heron, 1 Lt. Grebe.

17:07 Walk from Frinton to The Haven and back via the farm this morning: 1 Tree Pipit, 861 Meadow Pipit (781 south, heaviest movement between 07:30 and 8:30, few before this, steady passage after; and 80+ feeding in paddocks/fields round farm), 5 Wheatear (4 together along seawall, 1 by sluice - another behind the golf course workshop probably a sixth), 2 Grey Wag (south), 2 Stonechat, 1 Whinchat (with 1 of the stonechat by boardwalk), 8 Reed Bunting (4 south), 12 Curlew, 6 Cetti’s (singing), 2 Lesser Whitethroat, 9 Chiff, 30 Siskin (south), 2 Reed Warbler, 1 Sedge Warbler, 8 Pied Wag, 1 Yellow Wag (south), 2 Song Thrush, 2 Blackcap, 1 Goldcrest (by farm pond), 1 Little Stint, 4 Dunlin, 39 Swallow (20 south, 19 feeding over paddocks), 3 Buzzard (2 circling very high and drifting south).
