A female type Redstart in the Dell was a good start for Richard this morning and the bird was still showing well at mid-day. Simon & Pat's ringing session in the reedbed turned up the first Grasshopper Warbler of the year and a S E Owl dropped into the fields behind them mid-morning.(see Ringing page).

From the hide: c40 Teal, Mallard & Shoveler, c60 Lapwing, 4 Ruff, 4 Snipe, 4 Dunlin, 2 Common Sands, 2 Avocet, 1 Blk. T Godwit, Blk. H Gulls, Herring & Common Gull, 1 Spoonbill, 1 Lt. Egret, 1 Grey Heron, 1 Stonechat, 1 Whinchat. PRD/RJ/MR.
