Had a late start today as the fog started to lift and when the sun broke through it was a cracking morning, it had to be really as there were very few birds about.
Lots of gulls on the sluice rocks and 2 Purple Sands on the sluice at the start of my walk to the end of the boardwalk, a Cormorant was fishing close into the rocks near the second pillbox, Brent geese could be heard in the distance and a large flock were located in the murk on the arable behind the golf course. 2 Stonechat and a Wren were around the moth sanctuary.
From the hide: Just 6 Shelduck and a single Snipe on the scrape, on the arable 7 Mute Swans, 94 Lapwing, 1 Peregrine + lots of Corvids and Pheasants, along the back hedge near the set-aside were 30+ Linnets.
2 Stonechat were on the mounds, 6 Purple Sands were on the seawall just north of the sluice with 3+ Turnstone on the rocks on the way back to the car.
