I set out for the Haven shortly after receiving Simon's message saying he had a Dartford Warbler from the reedbed net rides. I managed to arrive in time to see the bird in the hand before release, what a great start to the day.
I spent most of the morning with Simon & Pat in beautiful sunshine and managed to see Cetti's Warbler, Lesser Redpoll, Reed Bunting & Mippits in the hand. (for full list see Ringing page).
The Dartford Warbler was relocated in the Moth Sanctuary and was seen until at least 11:30, also around the wooden hide were 10+ Bearded Tits & 2 Stonechat and on the seawall north of the sluice were a Purple Sandpiper and a Turnstone. PRD/MR
