A strong and cold wind again made it hard work around the site today, better news from the scrape with all three Avocet nests with one egg yesterday were still above water and all had 2 eggs today.
On the scrape: 3 Canada Geese, 10 Shelduck, 8 Teal, 33 Avocet (earlier count of 40 PNt), 6 Lapwing, 6 Redshank, 4 Snipe, 2 Oystercatcher, 1 Common Gull, 3 Sedge Warbler, 2 Whitethroat, 1 Cetti's Warbler, 1 Reed Warbler, 1 Reed Bunting, 2 Swallows, 1 Lt. Egret. PNt/BH/DC/MR.
A short visit to the farm late morning produced 2 Wheatear in the far paddock along with the normal Linnet, Goldfinch, Greenfinch etc. but birds of the day were a pair of Mistle Thrush feeding a youngster in the churchyard. DC/MR.
