Thurs 22nd April 21

I started at the farm this morning and was pleased to see a large flock of Linnet, several Greenfinch & Goldfinch and a Mistle Thrush in the first paddocks along with lots of Corvids. The short cropped grass looked a picture with a covering of daisies.

The paddocks behind the pond held 3 Wheatear, 1 Mistle Thrush, 1 Green Woodpecker, 1 Corn Bunting and 4 Blackbirds but sadly no Ouzel.

A quick visit to the main site late morning showed that on the scrape were 1 Canada Goose, 10 Shelduck, 6 Teal, 18 Avocet, 6 Lapwing, 6 Redshank, 3 Snipe, 2 Oystercatcher, 1 Ruff, 1 BlkWit, 2 Sedge Warbler, 1 Reed Bunting & 1 Water Pipit that showed very briefly on Leon's Marsh before being lost to view behind the long grass.
