Great to see the Avocet's starting to breed again this year with at least 4 nests with eggs today, just got to hope with the pumps now working that the water level has reached it's max as a couple are quite close to the edge, fingers crossed.
Reports from today:
Pete Loud
14:11 Haven this morning was pretty windy and cold, but started over the road with a pair of Tufted Duck, 2 Sedge, Cetti’s, Lesser Whitethroat, Whitethroat, 2 Sand Martin and 1 Curlew & 10 Whimbrel on the marsh. A look out to sea produced 2 Ad Gannet, 2 Whimbrel, 1 Grey Plover, 1 Red throated Diver and a Tufted Duck. A White Wagtail was on the pool behind the raised platform and later on the Scrape. 31 Avocets with 4 nests with eggs, still 10 Teal, and 2 or 3 Sedge Warblers, but not much else. Too windy to do the bushes thoroughly today.
Just a couple more photo's of yesterday's stunning Redstart, taken last evening.
