17:09 A walk from Frinton to The Haven and back via the farm this morning (despite the weather, a number of birds were singing first thing, and 24 species altogether): 1 Spotted Redshank, 1 Greenshank (heard), 19 Swallow, 7 Cetti’s (singing), 5 Lesser Whitethroat (singing), 13 Whitethroat (singing), 4 Moorhen, 1 Fulmar (south), 4 Reed Warbler (singing), 3 Reed Bunting (singing), 25 Whimbrel (golf course first thing, another 6 on field towards farm were probably additional), 8 Sedge Warbler (singing), 52 Linnet (flock of 35+ still present on arable), 7 Curlew, 1 Grey Heron (north), 1 Wheatear (seawall), 10 Avocet (2 north), 6 Med Gull, 1 Turnstone, 2 Corn Bunting (singing, 1 in pumpkin field, 1 halfway along bridleway), 1 Yellow Wag (south), 2 Song Thrush (singing), 4 Chiff (singing), 18 Shoveler, 8 Teal, 9 Gadwall, 1 Sandwich Tern (north), 3 Blackcap (singing), 1 Sparrowhawk, 2 Sand Martin, 2 Coot
