After a 40 min drive to travel six miles as the road between Kirby Cross and Gt. Holland was closed made for a late start this morning.
Lots of Gulls were on the sluice rocks on the way to the scrape and it soon became evident why, the field in front of the hide was being ploughed, it was also covered with Gulls as was the scrape c3,000 in total. With so many gulls it was difficult to find much but 18 Avocet (inc. the colour ringed bird), 11 Blk. T Godwit, 5 Snipe, 2 Common Sands, 1 Dunlin, 5 Shelduck, several Teal, 1 Grey Heron, were noted + at least 7 juv. Med Gulls in the masses. PRD/LH/DC/MR
A quick visit after lunch added the Little Stint only seen briefly but still around and a small movement of Swallows & Sand Martin PNt/MR
