Tue 24th March 20

Birding in the garden today, Blue Tits building in a nest box a pair of Collared Doves already sitting in the Hawthorn and a Woodpigeon nesting in the ivy hedge was lucky when a Sparrowhawk crashed into the hedge mid afternoon but couldn't reach his target.

From the Haven.

John Hall

A leisurely stroll from GC to raised tee and back which purports to be my exercise failed  to raise my pulse rate, neither did my observations. A dozen or so Crows on the beach and golf course plus a handful of Jackdaws. 1 male Reed Bunting, 4 Mipits and a constant accompaniment or arguing Herring Gulls. The tide line of spume covered wavelets looked perfect for Sanderlings, unfortunately no one sent them an  invite. A most enjoyable break from our confinement.

Paul Brayshaw

Male Black Redstart at the paddocks Frinton side of the farm
Also distant views of what I would happily have said was a Whinchat if we were a month later - couldn’t refind it once we’d been round the paddocks to confirm unfortunately
Nothing else of note on Frinton- farm- golf course- seawall circuit.

Matt Lonsdale

Haven exercise this morning- seems to be a bit of a clear out.
2 chiffs and Siskin (heard) in bushes.
Dunlin, 3 Blackwit, Avocet, Snipe and Marsh Harrier around hide.
C40 Brent north.
