My morning started with a walk along the Approach Road and round the Dell area with lots of birdsong including a Blackcap, sounding great in the chill morning sunshine, also 3 Chiffs. Moving on to the carpark bushes and the Sparrowhawk's were still busy nestbuilding, 7 Chiffchaff were noted in all.
10+ Turnstone were on the sluice rocks with 4 Cormorants and a dozen Gulls

14:14 Not a bad morning out in the sunshine, but still chilly in the wind. Marsh over the road there were still 20 Curlew, couple of Med Gulls and Cetti’s warbler. 4 or 5 Chiffchaff were along entrance road and car park. Most of the Wigeon and Teal seemed to have moved off now, with just a few of both, 2 Gadwall and several Shoveler. 2 Blackwit on the scrape, with 1 Snipe, 4 Redshank, Cetti’s Warbler, lots of Avocet (49) and 24 Med Gulls. Pair of Stonechat were on the Golf course, a Swallow flew over the Sewage Farm, female Black Redstart in council compound and the Ad Gannet was the only bird of note at sea. 2 Speckled Wood Butterflies in car park bushes were my first for year.
