I started at the farm this morning, great to hear the Swallow chattering as they hawk over the farm yard, a Chiffchaff was in the churchyard and another by the pond and a Corn Bunting in the trees along the bridleway, all the normal stuff was around on a cracking morning.
Nothing new around the bushes on the main site a few Chiffchaff and Blackcaps, a couple of Turnstone on the sluice rocks so I joined Richard at the hide. After a while a Colour ringed Greenshank appeared but unfortunately the heat haze made it impossible to to get the combination, later in the morning a second bird dropped in. The Cetti's Warbler showed on a few occasions (not long enough for a decent photo though) and Sedge Warbler was singing on and off. A Whitethroat showed well in the bramble outside the hide and an interesting looking Chiffchaff moved through very close. RJ/MR
From the hide: 2 Canada Geese, 8 Shelduck, 12 Teal, 6 Shoveler, 3 Gadwall, 40 Avocet, 10 Lapwing, 4 Snipe, 4 Redshank, 2 Greenshank, Blk H Gulls, 2 Med Gulls, 1 Grey Heron, 1 Cetti's Warbler, 1 Whitethroat, 1 Sedge Warbler, 1 Chiffchaff. Also a Brimstone butterfly. RJ/MR
