Wed 13th Apr 22

With lots of birds being reported round and about things started very slowly for me, just a few Chiff's and Blackcaps singing, but nothing new. I felt a bit better when I met up with Richard & Max as they had found it the same; after visiting the farm, over the road and most of the southern end of the site. A walk to the 3rd pillbox was a slight improvement with a Whitethroat (NFY) picked up by Max, a few Reed Bunting, Linnets, 1 Stonechat and some cracking Med Gulls on the golf course.

From the hide: 2 Canada Geese, 12 Shoveler, 10 Shelduck, 5 Gadwall, a few Teal & Wigeon, 33 Avocet, 6 Lapwing, 5 Redshank, 2 Curlew, 2 Oystercatcher, 1 Snipe, 1 Grey Heron, Blk Headed Gulls, 2 Common Gulls, 4 Med Gulls, 1 Cetti's Warbler, 1 Sedge Warbler (NFY)

During a short stop at the sluice on the way to the car park 2 calling Whimbrel  flew straight over our heads MM/RJ/MR.
