Tues 12th Apr 22

Another nice day, with the wind picking up through the morning. A Willow Warbler was new for me along the approach road but otherwise it was much the same Chiffchaff & Blackcap singing all around the site but nothing else new.

From the hide: 2 Canada Geese, 8 Shelduck, 8 Shoveler, 6 Gadwall, 6 Teal, 4 Wigeon, 4 Mallard, 39 Avocet, 6 Redshank, 3 BlkWits, c70 Blk H Gulls, 10 Med Gulls, 3 Common Gulls, 1 Lt. Egret, 1 Grey Heron, 1 Cetti's Warbler, and increasing numbers of Reed Buntings.

An afternoon visit to the farm was quiet but two Swallows were hawking over the first paddocks and my first Yellowhammer of the year was a bonus.

Reports from today:

Pete Newson

20:04 Spoonbill Holland Haven flew over car park and south out to sea at 8:00pm.
