A beautiful day today, very little wind and lots of sunshine, 4 new bird for the year list and at least 7 Chiffchaff and 6 Blackcaps singing around the site. 3 Swallows were also seen and Matt & Richard had a nice male Wheatear at French Point.
Richard had a Tufted Duck on the Brook on his way to site, Ringed Plover & Spotted Redshank were new on the scrape and Matt had the first Willow Warbler of the year near the Raised Platform
On the scrape: 2 Canada Geese, 12 Teal, 10 Shoveler, 10 Shelduck, 8 Wigeon, 2 Gadwall, 33 Avocet, 13 Curlew, 10 Lapwing, 4 Redshank, 1 BlkWit, 1 Dunlin, 1 Ringed Plover, 1 Spotted Redshank, c50 Blk H Gulls, 12 Med Gulls, 1 Grey Heron, 1 Buzzard, 1 Kestrel, 1 Cetti's Warbler, 1 Chinese Water Deer.
3 Purple Sands and 3+ Turnstone were on the sluice rocks.
