Wed 16th Sept.20

A steady movement of Siskins through the site this morning (thanks to Pete Davis's ears I managed to pick up a few) + a few Chaffinch and Swallows. Nothing of note around the bushes.

From the hide:

2 Greylag, c300 Teal, 8 Cormorant, 1 Shelduck, 2 Grey Heron, c30 Lapwing, 5 BlkWits, 1 Ruff, 1 Com. Sandpiper, 1 Dunlin, 1 Redshank, 3 Common Gulls, 3 LBB, Blk. H & Herring Gulls. PRD/MR

3 Buzzards and 3 Kestrels are still making the most of the short grass on the marsh and seem to be finding a good amount of food.

Reports from today

Steve Grimwade

17:36 460 Siskin north over the Naze this morning. Constantly moving in flocks of 10-15 from 8.30-2.00pm and afternoon visit to scrape at the haven produced 2 Blackwit, 1 Snipe, 1 Dunlin, 1 Redshank, 2 Sprawk, 4 Buzzard, 2 Med Gulls (1cy and ad), 2 (1cy) Common Gulls and Stoat. Good to bump into John Hall too.
