Tues 1st Sept 20
Two great birds this morning but sadly nether showed for very long, firstly a Subalpine Warbler found by Pete Davis in the bushes behind the Sluice, which showed briefly before being lost to view, unfortunately although a lot of time and effort was expended on this one it couldn't be relocated.
The second bird, a Red-backed Shrike was found by Liz Huxley on the small brambles on the marsh to the N/E of the hide. This bird was a little more obliging giving Max Martin and myself time to get a quick view before it moved off along the hedge line and was lost to view.
From the hide:
32 Greylag, c175 Teal, 2 Grey Heron, 54 Lapwing, 5 Dunlin, 3 Ruff, 1 Avocet, 1 Redshank, c50 Blk H Gulls, 15 Herring Gull, 1 GBB Gull, 1 Marsh Harrier, 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Kestrel, 1 Buzzard. MM/MR
Reports from today:
Peter Newton
Both Barn Owl and Short Eared were hunting until last light
